Quality of the model kit:
Brief description of the model kit: Plastic kit is older but we would hardly find any better. Welds and other small details are very nice. However, handrails are not good at all, so it is better to cut them off and replace with thin wire. The more complex parts of the model are tracks, because they have to be assembled from many small parts. The kit also includes 2 figures. Iteleri gives us four options of color markings:
  • Ver. A 94th inf. Division, Italy, Spring 1945.
  • Ver. B. Pz. Jg. Abt. 743 - Captured by Polish insurgents, Warsaw August 1944.
  • Ver. C. StuG.Abt.1708, 708. VGDivision, Halloville, France, November 1944.
  • Ver.d.Unknown Pz.Jg.Unit.
Brief description of construction: I used acrylic paints Vallejo and Tamyia. Parts match together nicely, so we do not need a lot of putty. Painting model is relatively simple. I used masking tape and adhesive gum rolled to thin noodles, which I placed to the model. It is illustrated in the pictures.

History

Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer The Jagdpanzer 38(t) (Sd.Kfz. 138/2), later known as Hetzer ("baiter"), was a German light tank destroyer of the Second World War based on a modified Czechoslovakian Panzer 38(t) chassis. The project was inspired by the Romanian "Mareşal" tank destroyer.

Thanks to the vehicles powerful chassis various versions to be engaged as tank destroyers were designed based on this model, in the beginning simply by mounting protected machine guns. Later on they produced this model with an armoured machine gun mount. The Hetzer, which was pressed into service in the second half of 1944, proved to be an extremely efficient tank against even the most potent Allied military vehicles.
